Conducting Investigations Involving Wi-Fi Intercept

This webinar provides the basics for investigators involved with Wi-Fi intercept of designated targets. Specifically what should a non-technical LEA be asking from ISP and/or Wi-Fi Hot Spot Operators that can enhance investigations with Wi-Fi related information. Specifically, this webinar will address:

  • Wi-Fi Basics: What LEAs need to know about Wi-Fi technologies in order to support their criminal investigation.

  • Working with ISP's: What do ISP's and/or Wi-Fi Hot Spot operators have and what don't they have that can support your investigations.

  • Overcoming Encryption: Content sent over Wi-Fi can be encrypted. What should a LEA need to know about encryption options, What tools are available to acquire target encryption keys and what can be done if encryption cannot be bypassed; e.g. Deriving information from Wi-Fi packets containing management and control frame information.
