GSA and the Future of Federal Networks
GSA’s Federal Acquisition Service, Assistant Commissioner for
Integrated Technology Services (ITS) will present his
organization’s vision for leveraging its vast market channels to
achieve a more secure and interoperable operating environment at
the Federal, State, and Local levels. He will discuss how the
GSA, the largest government supplier of Information Technology
products and solutions in the government today, is moving from
single channels of delivery to a multi-channel delivery concept
– leveraging the Information Technology (IT) Schedule 70
program, the IT Government Wide Acquisition Contract (GWAC)
program and the Network Services program to craft solutions that
meet a diverse range of needs. During the presentation, the
Assistant Commissioner will introduce his senior staff, who will
discuss their roles in the organization, key initiatives
underway, and how they contribute to the Federal Acquisition
Service ITS vision and road ahead.

Department of the Interior Networks
The Chief Information Officer for the Department of the Interior
(DOI) will provide an update on DOI’s $900 million a year
portfolio of IT investments, focusing on the role of advanced
networks in supporting the Department and its bureaus in all
areas of information management and technology. The presentation
will include an update on his agency’s Enterprise Services
Network and the transition plans for the GSA Networx contract.
He will also provide an update on his Department’s other
innovative infrastructure initiatives, including the
Department’s wireless services strategy and their unique
approach to radio communications interoperability with other
federal, state, local and tribal public safety agencies.

Environmental Protection Agency Networks
A senior official from the Environmental Protection Agency’s
Office of Technology Operations and Planning will provide an
overview of her agency’s networks which support EPA’s enterprise
requirements and which provide linkages to state and local
agencies, tribal communities and industry partners who support
EPA in monitoring and protecting our nation’s environment. The
presentation will highlight EPA’s upcoming requirements for
support from industry.

will also include an update on VA’s computer consolidation
initiative and the network infrastructure required to support
this initiative.

program management of NASA’s networks. The presentation will
highlight the challenges and changing requirements associated
with NASA’s networks and will cover upcoming NASA requirements
from industry.
